Hello
everyone and welcome to another video on my channel, in this one I'm going to show you the new lap time change combo, and the combo I'm going to be showing you today is at this Yas Marina circuit, and we are in this Ferrari F50 as you can see here, now what I'm going to show you is, first I'm going to very quickly talk about
the
settings, or the setup for how these work, and then I'm going
to
show you my fast stop, probably my detailed lap afterwards, followed by again my fast stop with commentary in the background for reminders, then I'll show you how to get to the event, how to get to the event I should say, 2 acmr replay, how to load it goes, and how to use the data logger, anyway without further ado, let me go and show you the ranking board, so as you can see at the time of recording, 9.11am in the morning, so it's been out for just over an hour, I've got a 2 minute 0.5, 7 tenths ahead of hull, with a 2 minute 1.2, and when you were going to the car settings, as
you
can see in the F50, it drops off in power very late, so I read this car out, whether that is the absolute fastest way to drive this car, I'm not 100%, but I read this car out, because from what I can see, when you read this car out, when you change gear, you're going to have less power in the low rev range, compared to the high rev range, that is why I'm reffing this car out, I'll talk to you about how I'm changing gears, and where I'm changing gears, on my actual detailed lap, But now, before I show you my fastest lap, I'd like to say, if you enjoy these videos, and find it helpful, then I'd appreciate you liking this video, hyping this video, and subscribing to my channel, but without further ado, let me show you my fastest lap, cheers guys!
Alrighty guys, I hope you've just enjoyed the lap I have shown you, now I'm going to show you how I do it, but right before I do that, two or three things I need to mention, first of all, where I am changing gears, So I'm changing from second to third, at 80 miles per hour, from third to fourth, at 105 miles per hour, from fourth to fifth, at 132 miles per hour, somewhere along that range, or what's 135?
Uh,
it was 130, yeah, it
was
132, and from fifth to sixth,
at
162 miles per hour, uh, also, when I am changing the gear, what I am doing is, as I'm, I'm on the controller, uh, at least for this lap,
When
I'm changing gears, so when I press my X, which is my up shift button, as I'm doing that, I am completely lifting off the throttle, because this is a manual car, and what I mean by a manual car is, as you can see here, in the cockpit, you won't be able to see, but there's a gear stick, down there somewhere, so it takes time to, you know, let the gear change actually happen, so it's usually quicker to lift and shift at the same time, It usually changes gear, that's slightly bit quicker, which can save you a little bit of time during your lap,
uh, anything
else to, nah, that's about it, I'll take the key word for this, it's track limits, uh, but let me show you how I did it, so, To start the lap,
take
it as wide as you can, uh, and you're going to exit this corner in third, the apex speed for this corner is around 53, 54 miles per hour, at least to start the lap,
Pick
up the throttle, full throttle in third, no problem with oversteer,
as
you can see, I am wrecking the car out a lot,
first
corner, I've just started braking now, but I'm looking for this 150 reference, you could probably brake on it, but I like to brake a touch before it, so probably about 160, uh, 155 to 160 metres, or whatever the unit of measurements they use at Yas Marina, uh, so as you can see, I'll take a car in before 150 to be safe, uh,
what
I'm
going to
be doing is I'm going to be braking on the outside, as soon as I get, start to get past the 100 reference, that's when I'm going to downshift to second, and start turning to the left, the minimum apex speed for this first corner was around 63 miles per hour,
And
I forgot to show you what it looks like in different camera angles,
so
right, now I'm braking, this is what it looks like in bumper, bonnet, chase, and cockpit,
ideally
you want to get your left tyre to go just over this orange kerb, and your right tyre to be basically on this right line, if you can help it, exit in third, use all this outside kerb, stay on the right, as soon as this dark grey part of the track starts to leave the blue, uh, outer track, limits, that's when I'm
going
to start turning to the left, in fact,
I
start turning to the left as I go past this astro here, uh, all you need is a tiny bit of trail braking and coast through the corner, uh, minimum apex speed for this corner was around 91 miles per hour, so this world looks like a bumper, bonnet, chase, and cockpit,
here
you'll see, I don't know if it's a shadow or just a different tarmac, but you're going to go a bit past it, as soon as, I'd say about a car length before, the red and white part of the runoff area here, ends, that is when I'm going to start turning to the right, uh, and I'm going to start coasting and trail braking through this corner, down to about 90 miles per hour, sorry, I forgot to show you what it looks like in different camera angles again, so, about here, is when I start turning to the right, as you go past this shadow here, so this world looks like a bonnet, bumper,
a
bump, sorry,
bumper,
bonnet, chase, and cockpit,
what
you want to be doing is get as close to this board as possible, and have your left high speed to be on this right line, because this kerb, there's a little bit of grip on it, so you can actually take a bit more apex speed if you are, if you are to use all this kerb here, which is why, uh, my first sector is actually not too bad, it's not the best first sector, I've done better, but it's not bad, uh, you're going to exit in fourth as well, because it's quicker to do, in my opinion,
this
next corner coming up, I'm breaking, a car length before this 100, uh, sign here, 0.321 S1, I have done as good as a very low 0.2, so I've lost a tenth in the first sector, uh, but I think the rest of my lap kind of makes up for it,
so
I am breaking a car length before 100, so this one looks like in bonnet, or bumper, sorry, bonnet,
chase,
and cockpit,
I'm
going to take it, I'm going to go slightly deep, and the minimum apex speed you're looking to get is around 44 to 45 miles per hour,
ideally, you
want to just touch this inside kerb, uh, and on the exit, keep it 60% throttle, until your car starts to phase towards this outside kerb, as you can see now, I've just picked up 100% throttle, be careful on your steering at this point, because if you put too much steering in, as you put 100% throttle down, you're
going
to have to oversteer, or you're going
to
have to change up the gear early, so you need to be very careful if you're steering here, if, if, if,
if
you're not 100% confident on the exit, just upshift to third a little bit early, so that, uh,
you
don't have too much oversteer, and you won't lose too much time on the exit,
it's
kind of coming up, I'm breaking,
pretty
much on the 200 here, yeah, right here, I'm breaking on the 200, so this is what looks like in bumper, bonnet, chase, and cockpit, I'm going to pause, as I start turning,
so
as soon as I downshift to first, and as soon as in bumper come at least,
you
don't, no longer see the orange barrier on the left, that is when I start to turn in, uh, and the minimum apex speed for this corner,
I
was taking around 32 to 33 miles per hour, on a controller, ideally, you want to try getting your left tire to at least touch this orange kerb here, just to maximise the angle for this next corner here, in fact, you can't really cut any more than that, I'm literally on the right line with both my tires, you cannot really cut any more than that, I kind of nailed it on the top, I'm actually going to be in first gear for this corner,
as
soon as you start to go past this shadow here, that's when I'm going to upshift to second, and the minimum apex speed for this corner was around,
uh,
51 miles per hour, so this is what it looks like in bumper, bonnet, chase, and cockpit,
I'm
going
to
upshift to second now, again, get your right tires to go on this orange kerb, without touching its bollard of course, and get your left tire to basically be on this right line, so that you can pick up the throttle as early as you can, again, be careful with everything on the exit, so don't put too much steering in as you put the throttle down, similar to this corner up here,
this
next corner coming up, very difficult to get right, but,
I
break about a car length before this, uh, big shadow starts here, uh, and as soon as I start to break, I'm
going
to turn to the left, and I'm going to trail break, as I get towards the apex here, that way, I don't want to steer too wide as I start to turn it in, and I'm going to gradually slow down until I get to about 60 miles per hour, towards the middle part of this, uh, cambridge corner here, so this is what it looks like in bumper, bonnet, chase, and cockpit,
so,
as soon as I get to about this point here, so I'm halfway between the left and right side of the track, and I would say I'm about two to three car lengths behind this sign here, that's when I'm going to upshift to third, and I'm going to start to apply the throttle, I believe I initially go 70% throttle, somewhere like that, you'll see in a second, and you want your left tire to basically be on the inside of this kerb here, while your right tires are just outside of it, of course, so that you don't get invalidated lap. Since it's cambered, you want to pick up the throttle early, since, you know, since it's cambered, you want to
take
as much speed and momentum as possible.
Yeah,
as you can see, 60-70% on average.
You
want a little bit of rear slip to come out here, just so that you slide into the apex a bit, so that you're straightening up from your exit, and you can pick up the throttle earlier. At this point, as I start to leave this kerb, that's when you're going to see me put 100% throttle in. Again, be careful with the turbo drivers here. Here, coast to the left, and as soon as you get towards the outside, I would say about a car width or two before you get to the outside right line here, that's when I'm going to start turning to the right, and just carry on turning to the right here. As soon as you go past this board sign here, above us, that's when I'm going to start to lift here,
tap
the brakes as well, and I'm going to carry on, reapplying the brakes, and downshifting to third, just because I want to have momentum going past this part, but
since
this is a road car, you can't take too much speed here, otherwise you're going to understay it off into the kerb. Plus, you're going to be braking before you get to the outside, so if you've not slowed down enough, and you start to apply the brakes, you're just going to understay it off the track. So, at this point, I'm about 100 and... I want to say 10 miles per hour. Yeah, 110-ish, and then carry on the coasting for a bit until you get towards the end of this red and white kerb. That's when I reapply the brakes, as you can see here. So, this is what it looks like in bumper, bonnet, chaise, and cockpit. Fair off to the outside here.
As
soon as you downshift to first just before you get to this shadow here, that's when I'm starting to turn to the right. The minimum apex speed for this corner was 50 miles per hour.
Again,
get as close to this board as you can. Carry on theory enough to the right. As soon as you start to go past this shadow, that is when I'm starting to turn to the left. And then I'm going to just trail break a bit and coast around this corner. This first apex, you want to take it about 60 miles per hour.
Carry
on coasting. Reapply the throttle a bit just so that, you know, you're picking up the speed, but you don't want to have your left eyes up this right line. And again, as soon as you start to see the shadow here, I break about a car and perform it down to first gear, and the minimum apex speed you're looking for this corner is 58 miles per hour. And you want to just coast down to it. You don't want to just break down to it immediately. You just want to coast it like that.
And
then as soon as you get past this board, I go up to third gear and I start to reapply the throttle. Again, be a bit careful of putting too much damage in as you pick up the throttle because you can't overest it and touch the outside barrier.
I
do lose probably half the tank for here. Carry on theory to the left. As soon as you get to this part of this curve, that's when I'm going to turn to the right, upshift to fourth. Basically, as soon as I've upshifted to fourth last one, I'm going to brake and downshift first straight away just so that I give out a little extra downshift to give out a little bit of extra rotation.
Let
me show you what it looks like in the other camera angle, sorry. Get as close to the south side wall as you can.
So
basically, as soon as you start to go past these lights here,
that
is when I'm reapplying the brakes now and turning to the right. So this really looks like a
bonnet... Oh,
sorry, bumper, bonnet, chaise and cockpit. Minimum apex 3 for this corner was 90 to 91 miles per hour. Again, use all this kerb here. Reapply the throttle. And again, use all this exit kerb here. I am braking as I get to the end of this painted orange barrier on the right. So this is what it looks like in bumper, bonnet, chaise and cockpit. Sorry, and cockpit right here. I'm going to brake in a straight line until I get to this point here because if you carry on braking on the outside kerb, you're just going to understeer right in the last corner. So as soon as the kerb starts to turn to the right, that's when I am getting off this kerb here.
Downshift to 3rd for that little extra rotation and engine braking. As soon as your car starts to meet to the inside apex at about 54 miles per hour, that's when I'm going to upshift to 3rd and full throttle the exit.
Be
careful, track limits here. And that's a 2 minute 0.5. It might be in a good lap. I do think there's a few temps in it though. I reckon a world record will probably get down to 2 minutes 0 if I had to guess. So I believe the gold estimate was somewhere around a 2 minute 3.8. But as long as you're within 3% of the gold time value and then that's where you get the 2 mil crates. But now I'm going to show you my fastest lap again but with commenting in
the
background for reminders. So I'll see you in that next clip now guys. Thank you.
So
here's my fastest lap again but with commenting in
the
background for reminders etc. So if there's 1st corner you're looking for the 150 marker on the right. You're breaking just before it. You're going to break on the outside and slow it down to about 62 miles per hour on the apex bit here. Try getting left tires on the sandwich kerb if you can. Exit in 3rd gear. Here you're going to turn to the left as soon as the grey track lines go off the blue part go about 90 mile an hour here it's the left outside red and white runoff area ends that's when you turn to the right you're going to exit in 4th and slow it down to about 90 miles per hour.
Here you're breaking a car for the 100 on the right here breaking a straight line as you downshift second you're
going
to start to the left downshift first for engine breaking slow it down to about 44 miles per hour pick at the throttle in 2nd up to about minimally pick speed about 44 mile an hour and try to accelerate second up to 77 miles per hour before having to upshift for momentum purposes. Here you're breaking just as you get past this 200 on the right here breaking a straight line turn to the left you want a 33 miles per hour apex speed in 1st gear exit first as the shadow goes across your screen you go turn to the right minimum apex speed for the right part of the chicane it's about 51 miles per hour as you get off the kerb that's when you're
going
to pick at the throttle and again be careful on the steering on the exit in 2nd otherwise you're going
to
have too much overhead here you're breaking a car length before the big shadow starts as you break you're going to turn to the left trail brake as you get towards the inside kerb or the first kerb
and
then progressively slow down to about 60 miles per hour
pick
up in 3rd gear about 70% throttle down to the apex here just brake trail brake and coast to 110 miles per hour before braking down to 50 miles per hour from this corner here as your first shadow passes you're going to start to the left down to 60 miles per hour here as you start to approach this big shadow you're going to slow down to about 50 miles per hour here then off to the left as you get past the lights on the left that's when you're going to slow down to about 90 miles per hour for this corner here as the orange barrier ends that's when you break down to about 52 miles per hour 53 for this last corner exit in 3rd and as a lap around this jasmarina circuit
alright
guys first way to see the replay I've just shown you guys is you go to showcase in this bottom left of this home section once it loads in loads in I should say go to content search replays
type
in probably my name Kelser because I share I think this name and it is right here TT challenge dash 50 yasmarina it's a 2 minute 0.534 here professional record blah de blah you can view it here to get to your friend and another way to see my replay is you go to sport mode in the top right of this home section
once
it loads in you are looking for online time trials and rid of your screen right here
lap
time challenge you just move in the circuit right here select the car etc you are on sports medium so you're going to have to buy it here if you don't have it already once you buy it you can equip it here but anyway go to qualifying time ranking go to my name press play replay I should be within this top 20 the whole time at least I would imagine so it should be easy to find me but to load the ghost until you enter the event just well that's how you enter the event just press a tick and make sure you've got the right title zone
once
you're loading go to the ranking board again global ranking etc or global ranking click on my name press load ghost
once
you've done that you can play around with the ghost settings I personally have this off and this on just so that you can follow one ghost as accurately as possible I'd have it reset after each sector so I'd have this on and I'd personally have it start 3 tenths out of you giving you enough time to react to where I'm breaking when I'm picking the throttle and the lines I'm doing but now my favourite part of this video the data target I'm going to compare my best lap to Hall's best lap this has only been out for about an hour and a half so obviously neither of these laps will be perfect but
it
should give us an idea of what we're doing right and what we're doing incorrectly as you can see at the start of the lap I'm already gaining a lot of speed here I imagine it's because he exits in second but I exited in third I'm almost a tenth ahead of him already as we apply the brakes I brake slightly later than him I take an early apex he does carry more speed initially but I get a better exit oh no I get a worse exit but I carry more speed middle of the apex so we'll probably gain the same time here I carry more speed initially I brake more he cuts more yes he gained half a tenth here but because I'm more on the outside here I'm going to gain a lot of that time back on the exit here as you can see right here
not
as much as I thought but this wasn't my best last one I've done so that's understandable half a tenth up in this one here I break slightly later I take a narrow line that's just how I've always done this corner in group 3 etc I get an ok exit but
I
definitely lose a bit of time there I'm going to fast forward this bit I gain a hundredth there I gain a bit on the entry lose a bit on the exit of course here we break out pretty much the same point actually I break quite a bit later than him it looks like I take it very soon in this corner yeah hole broke way too way too early for this corner that's where he's losing so much time yeah look at that I gain nearly 3 tenths on him on this sector alone just because he broke earlier than I did for the chicanes I take a narrow line here just to gain that extra hundredth or so and I make sure I straighten up for this apex coming up here I break quite a bit later than him I usually take this line differently to everyone so I go inner then outer then inner that's how I've always taken this corner and that's what I'm comfortable doing and I gain quite a bit of time on the exit here just because I have a better angle on this corner here I'll probably take it a touch too narrow but I do gain a lot of time initially but I will lose somewhat in this corner because of the way I had to take the previous corner but as you can see I gained quite a few attempts in that section here here I take it more narrow than he does again I think he takes it a bit too wide the kerb can unsettle the car a bit I find so I tend to not use too much outside kerb there at least on a controller here I slow down a bit too early but I get a very good exit here I have to break earlier because again I got a much better exit he takes a more narrow line I know I lost a little bit of time in the last corner because I got off the kerb a little bit too late but that's how I gained nearly three quarters of a second on him
but
without further ado hopefully you've enjoyed the video if you found it helpful then please feel free to hit the like the hype and the subscription buttons if you've got any questions put it in the comments below I'll answer to the best of my ability as always but yeah hopefully this helps do a few laps just to warm up don't worry about chasing the best lap just try getting to flow with it at first and then try to push your lap later on that's how I usually do my lap times I usually do a few laps at first before I properly give it a good go on my best attempt but without further ado thanks for watching and I'll see you for my next stream or video thank you guys and have a good one
