He's going to do some really cool stuff this morning. And I'm kind of excited about that. And
I
don't really have a message. I may more have an encouragement. I have some thoughts written down. But
you
know when you hear
a
kind of story, like a prophetic story, like
a
story that you know, okay, this event just happened and it was like God ordained, like the wind of the Spirit was on it.
And
this happened to Julie Yoder
when
she went to Israel just this past year.
And I
don't know how much our, you know, what we're going to say going to relate. But
you
know how like in the Corinthian church, one person gives a prophecy, one shares a word, one worships. You know, we're going to do it that way. And I think they will dovetail. But
Julie,
would you just come up here? And I think I just want to start this way because,
you
know, most are, many of us are vineyard churches in here, right? Yeah? Can you raise your hand if you're a vineyard church? Okay, that's a lot of us that are part of a vineyard church.
And
so,
this
has specifically to do with the vineyard movement.
And yeah,
even our national director was like, yeah, that's a good word. So,
you
can share this. Go ahead.
Okay,
so, a year ago, Mike and I became regional leaders for Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and Kansas. And, you know, I kind of said yes to that role because I really sensed God was inviting Mike and I to that. But the truth is, I
kind
of immediately felt overwhelmed because then I began to hear
many
different people's stories in the vineyard.
And,
you know, what I love about the vineyard is we're this big family,
but
we're also individual churches.
And
I only had really the context of our church at this time. And I kind of knew some of the struggles that our church was going through post
-pandemic. And I
was really feeling this, like,
if
I'm really honest, it's like, God, are you big enough
to
solve all the problems
that
not only, like, our church is facing, but all these churches are facing?
And
then you're just hearing that, like, pastors are quitting and people, you know, you can't, people would be reaching out to us, like, we're really trying to hire a youth pastor.
We're
really trying to hire a worship pastor. And, like,
we
can't even find people to hire.
And
so, I think part of my heart was just really concerned about, like,
why
am I a pastor right now in this season? Like, I want it to be easier
or
I want a different life. Like, this is
not
what I thought it was going to be type of thing. And yet I had just said more responsibility. So, mom had gotten invited to go to Israel. And so, she said, hey, you should come with me. And the truth is I really didn't want to go to Israel.
And
I know that sounds crazy. And now it really sounds crazy because I absolutely loved my time there. But
it
was a two-week trip. I have four kids. We have this church. We're regional leaders. It was, like, didn't feel like good timing. So,
we
go to Israel and we go to some amazing places. We're on the Sea of Galilee on a boat.
And
you better believe we listen to oceans, okay?
I
mean, it was incredible. We were in Capernaum and, like, we were ministering to one another under, like, an olive grove tree. And it was, like, this is where Jesus did, like, most of his miracles. I mean, we were in some amazing places. But one of the places we went,
we
had, like, a whole itinerary,
was
this 600-acre
preserve
that a family had this dream that they would replant native plants to Israel
in
this 600-acre preserve right outside of Jerusalem. And one of the things you do when you go to Jerusalem,
or
Israel in general, is you do a tree-planting ceremony. It's very –
one
of the conquerors who'd come through that land, they'd cut down every tree. This was, like, thousands of years ago. I think it was, like, over 1,500 years ago. But now you plant trees as kind of a symbolic act.
And
so we were supposed to do this tree-planting ceremony. And I was kind of like,
I
mean,
we've
seen some amazing places. And now we're going to go to this preserve and plant a tree. Okay, fine. So
we
go to this place, and we are assigned a guide. And her name is Mikkel. Dramatic pause. And immediately I'm really, really drawn to her. She's, like, very spiritual. And she loved – we were a group of vineyard women, vineyard pastors. There was 20 of us.
And
so she begins to tell us about the land. And while we're there, my mom, Di, is going to give a talk on legacy
and
leaving a legacy.
And
so I was kind of like – I was like – oh, first of all, it was 95 degrees, so I was sweating. But I was starting to kind of feel the spirit move. And as
we
walked through this preserve, they took us to an ancient vineyard.
And
on this vineyard, there was a plaque
that
said Isaiah 5, that my friend has a vineyard.
And
I said, oh, that's so funny. Because we're vineyards. And we were actually named from Isaiah. And so Mikkel's like, oh, that's amazing. We're in Isaiah.
And
then I felt like the worst vineyard pastor ever because I was like, I don't know.
But
my good friend Danelle –
I
didn't even – my cell phone wasn't even turned on. I, like, was only doing, like, the Wi-Fi thing.
So
we're out – and my friend Danelle, who's actually here, she's on her phone. And she's, like, Googling it. And she's, like, trying to figure out – she's like, okay, I think it's – I think it's Isaiah 27. And I was like, okay, so
we
go to the top of this little watchtower where the people used to look to make sure that foxes weren't coming into the vineyard area. And Mikkel, in this very –
you
know, she speaks Hebrew. And so, you know, she's got a very, like, amazing accent. And
she's
like, oh, well, would you read out loud what Isaiah 27, 2, and 3 says? And
this
is what that says. This is actually where our movement was named from.
In
that day,
a
pleasant vineyard, sing of it, I,
the
Lord, am its keeper.
Every
moment
I
water it, lest anyone punish it,
I
keep it night
and
day.
So
I read this scripture to her, and when I look up, she looks me straight into the eyes,
but
more into my heart.
And
she just very calmly says to me, ah,
so
the Lord is the vineyard's keeper.
It
will thrive again.
And
in this moment, I mean,
I'm
sweating, so there were some sweat tears, too. But,
I
mean, I just begin to weep almost uncontrollably.
Because
in that moment, I knew that I knew that I knew
that
the Spirit was speaking to me.
And
he was speaking to me way more just about – than just about our church. He was talking about the vineyard
movement.
And
I
was shook, and I'm, like, looking around, and everyone else is kind of, like, kind of looking normal. And that's no diss against them. I just knew that this was the word that I needed to hear
in
that moment, that
the
Lord is the vineyard's keeper.
He
is the keeper of our movement. He is the keeper of our churches.
He
waters our churches night and day, lest anyone punish it. And the word to each of us is, the vineyard will thrive again.
As
we come out of COVID, as we discover what this new church life looks like
and
what God's doing in this season. And so,
it's
radically given me hope and perspective, and
I
share it anytime someone asks me to share. So,
it
was an amazing experience.
Thank
you, Julie.
I
don't know what that does to you, but it does something in my heart.
It,
like, stirs something. Because I know, like, you know, the Lord is the vineyard. He's the keeper. He's the one that's pruning. He's the one that's cultivating. He's the one
doing
something in your heart.
And
we're talking about
our
hearts, or the eyes, the eyes of our heart.
And
so, I just think
what
I want to talk about is, how do we steward that?
How
do we let him
steward
our vineyard?
How
do we let him steward the soil of our heart? How do we let him steward what he deposited here? But
how
do we let him steward what's
going
to happen when you go back home?
So,
that's what I want to talk about today.
You
know, the verse that, you know, there's a bunch of verses that came with this theme, for they shall see.
The
most direct one
was,
blessed are the pure in heart,
for
they shall see God. Matthew 5, 8.
It's
the Sermon on the Mount.
And,
you know, when I read that verse, I'm like, well, I'll put it on the list. But,
man, there's
something I don't like about that verse. Because it just, you know, I just didn't want it to be one of the main verses. Because, like, when I think about it,
it
just makes me think of works and legalism. Like, oh,
if
my heart's not pure enough, I'm not going to see God. So, I've
got
to keep working it, you know, cleaning up my heart. Working, working, working, right?
So,
I can see God. And if I don't see God enough, that means my heart is not pure. And so, I have to look and dig and dig. And it stressed me out. So, I'm just like, well, I'll put it on the list. But, you know, we're going to talk about other things. Dramatic pause. Reset.
Until
I realized
that
God's the one doing the work of purification. He's the one that tends the vineyard.
We
just have to be willing. He's the purifier. He's already given us a new heart.
You
know, there's a prophecy about what Jesus accomplished.
He
said, I will give them a new heart. I'll put a new spirit in them. I'm going to remove that stony, stubborn heart. I'm going to put a heart of flesh. That's what he says. That's a promise. That's what he accomplished
on
the cross.
But,
see, I think what's,
so
where's the disconnect? Because sometimes our heart doesn't feel very pure. Our motives don't feel pure. All of this.
See, I
don't think we know how to
walk
in the new heart.
We
don't know exactly how to walk having a new heart. You know, when you get heart surgery,
you
have to learn to walk
with
a new heart. Maybe some of you have had heart surgery, right? Has anybody had heart surgery in this room?
Okay,
a couple people. So,
you
know there's a new way. Maybe it was harder before. Now it's a little easier. But you have to learn to walk
with
a new heart.
Now
I love words.
And
so I love to look at the meaning of words.
And
when I look at the word blessed,
you
know, blessed are the pure in heart. Blessed, I don't know if it's blessed or blessed, but whatever.
It
means favored. Favored is the one.
Favored
is,
favored
are the pure in heart.
Well,
I looked up that word pure, and it means
purified
by fire.
I
think that's what's been happening this week.
God
has been purifying our hearts with fire. I love what a couple people mentioned this, like the stay in hubble, wait, hay and stubble, not
hay
and stubble,
stay
in hubble. No, not that.
Any
hay and stubble burns away.
But
the word actually means, I looked this up, the Greek word
actually
means pruning.
How
about that vineyard? I knew there would be a tie-in.
He
wants to prune our hearts, right?
He
wants to, you know that verse in John, right, where Jesus is talking and he says, you know, I prune even the ones that bear fruit so that you can bear even more fruit. Sometimes I'm like, ouch, Jesus.
Do
you have to do that one too? I thought that was doing pretty good. He goes, yeah, I want great.
So
I'm just going to pull this back a little bit so you can do more.
You
know, that's pure.
Free
from sin or guilt, right? That's also what
the
word pure means.
Man,
that's what Jesus accomplished, right?
For
they.
This
happens in community. See, I don't think there's one idle word in the Bible.
I
don't think there's one idle word.
It's
not for you shall see God, for they shall see God. This is communal.
And
everything the enemy wants is to isolate you.
He
wants to pull you out of community. He wants to get you offended. He wants to, you know, would you, I use this analogy a lot. You know, offense is kind of like someone with a tray of offenses. And it comes at you all the time. Would you like to take an offense?
And
you're like, well, yes, I would. Thank you very much.
And
we love to take that offense. But you have to take it.
And you
could just be like, no, thank you.
I'm
just going to love him instead.
Bless
those who curse you. Pray for your enemies.
You
don't have to take it. Sometimes it's really easy to, but you don't have to.
For
they, it's community, right? Shall see.
I
was surprised when I looked up
what
seeing meant.
Now,
it's physical I see. And I think that's often what we think, right?
But
we've also been talking in this conference in a beautiful way. It's perceive, right?
It's
not just see with our physical eyes. It's perceiving. It's knowing God.
But
this third one
actually really
spoke to me.
To
be acquainted with him by experience.
You
see, seeing is actually experiencing God.
It's
not just seeing him. It's not just seeing him. It's
seeing
him.
It's
like experiencing God.
For
they shall see. They shall experience God. Wow. I was like, wow. Jesus, there's so much meaning here. You see, I think many of us want to see God. So we're trying to go. We're just asking, Lord, let me see you. Where are you? Show me where you are. Let me see you. Open my eyes. I can't see you in this situation, right?
Why
aren't you showing up? Why is all this bad stuff happening? Where are you, Lord? But see, what Jesus is trying to tell us is don't go after your physical sight. Don't try to see. Steward your heart.
And
then you will see.
See,
it's an automatic outcome of the health of your heart.
See,
this is why that song.
That's
a prophetic word.
Open
the eyes of my heart.
It's
not
these.
It's these. Open the eyes of my heart. Open the eyes of my heart. Close your eyes. Open the eyes of my heart. Open not only our perception and knowing, but you open our experience of
you.
Open our experience of you.
So
if it's about the heart,
how
do we steward that?
Well,
I felt like God gave me just like three short things. And so I just want to share that.
How
do we steward the heart
that
sees God?
And
the first thing, and this has kind of been a theme this week, it's kind of been a theme over the month.
We
see with humility.
Now,
there are tons of verses about humility.
Many
of you could quote him, be gentle, be humble, make allowance for each other's faults. There's a famous quote I love by C.S. Lewis. He says, humility is not thinking less of yourself,
but
thinking of yourself less.
You
kind of got to think about that one, right? Humility is not thinking less of yourself,
but
thinking of yourself less.
I
really like that. It makes you think. C.S. Lewis, brilliant.
But
when you think humility,
you
also think about
pride,
and then the darkness comes.
I
think
Christians
kind of get beat up about humility,
and
it's because maybe we misunderstand it a little bit. Because maybe you've thought of humility as, well, I need to think appropriately lower of myself, right?
And
then pride is I'm thinking too highly of myself. But the problem is, where's the line? Who defines it, right?
Because
you're like, well, I can't go that low, because, I mean, Jesus did some great stuff. He lifted me up, but I want to get too high. And so you're always kind of, and this is the enemy, what he does. He wants to beat you down. Lower, lower, lower, lower. Well, Jesus died for you to be higher, higher, higher.
Right?
So what do you do with that?
Well,
let me suggest a different definition.
How
about pride
is
when we try to define ourselves.
How
about pride
is
not thinking too highly of ourselves. Pride is when we actually try to define who we are.
And
humility is actually God defines who you are.
Right? He
gets to say who you are. He gets to define the line.
Right? Pride
and humility.
Now,
all these verses
about
humility in the Bible, but this one really stuck out to me. 2 Chronicles
7
.14, going back to the OT.
That's
the Old Testament, for those that don't know what that was.
It
says, Now, I know this is in the Old Testament, and some of this has been fulfilled, but I firmly believe that it's also still being fulfilled.
I
think we're in a 2 Chronicles 7.14 moment.
I
believe God is getting ready to heal our land, and boy, does it need healing.
Di,
I loved your message.
Di, I loved your message.
Di,
I loved your message. Because
you, it wasn't that good.
Someone
told me it was the best message they've heard like all year.
Like, our
land needs healing. But you know what's happening right now?
The
preparation.
The
preparation for what God wants to do. Humble ourselves, pray, and seek his face.
So
I have a confession.
I
went to Asbury.
I
went to the Asbury Revival, Outpouring, Renewal, whatever it's called.
Who
knows?
And
you know, I believe Jesus. I believe the Holy Spirit is everywhere.
I
believe
wherever
two or three are gathered, he's with us. I believe that. I don't need to go somewhere to get the presence. He's everywhere.
But
I also believed he was doing something unique over there.
And
so I grabbed my two older boys and I said, you know what? This doesn't happen every day.
This
kind of outpouring.
So
I want them to experience it. So we went.
And
you know, I thought I understood humility.
And
then I go into this environment.
And
we're just worshiping. And you guys have probably read stuff about it, right? It's simple. There's no lights. There's no, you know, I mean, obviously, maybe God's trying to say something about these lights. I don't
know.
Maybe not. I mean, they look really awesome. So I love them. But there's the simplicity about it. You can't even tell who's leading, right? So there's like waves of worship. It would rise up. But
pretty
about the first couple hours in there, I kept going,
man,
the Spirit is doing something right now. Why is no one saying anything about it?
You
know, and I realized, wow, I think if you're kind of a charismatic Christian,
you
might get offended in this environment.
Because
we've spent many years trying to learn how to discern what the Spirit is doing, and God is doing things. Like there was all these things happening in the room, but no one was saying anything about it. People were getting delivered from demonic presences, all this kind of, people were getting healed. And they were doing a few things about it, but no one was like stewarding it. And I was like, come on, someone needs to do something. And I wanted to go down there, and God started to speak to me.
Oh,
joy.
Yo,
do you want to see what I'm doing?
Then
just receive.
Just
bless what I'm doing.
And
I was just like, okay, Lord.
I
want to see you.
I
don't want to see what I think it should look like.
I
want to see you. Dramatic pause.
So
turn out the lights.
I
want to see you.
And
you know, the whole experience changed when I did that.
And
I realized, like,
there's
this critical spirit when this kind of stuff happens. You know, if you read, I mean, poor Facebook, man. There's some good things about it, but everybody just kind of rants, and there's all this critical stuff about it.
And
I was just like, and something rose up in me even before I went. I was like, we need to bless what God is doing, even if it doesn't look like we think it should, right? And when I was in that environment, I'm like, Lord, I want to see you. I want to see what you're doing. I want to bless what you're doing. So I bless it, Lord. I bless it.
And
I started to enjoy it a lot more once I did that. But then something happened to me,
and
only God,
only
God could
go
deep into my heart like this.
Because
some of you that know me, and maybe you can imagine if I,
you
know, a conference director, I love creating environments for encounter and people to
be
set free and delivered and called out and anointed and go out. And
I
love all that.
And
I'm sitting there,
and
I'm just worshiping, and the usher comes up to me.
And
she goes, hey, do you lead worship?
And
I was like, you're like, I'm like, how did you know that? She goes, I don't know. The leaders just told me to come ask you if you lead worship and if you would mind helping out with worship.
This
is at Asbury University in Hughes Hall.
And
I was like, who? Who? What?
How
do you know? She's like, I don't know, but you just go down there at 715, and then they'll give you instructions.
I
was like, what is happening?
So
I just sit down, and I'm like,
I
tried to hold back the tears because I'm like, Lord, you know me.
No
one knows who I am here.
Then
I'm trying to think, does someone know? Do they say, hey, he's a worship leader. Go, you know, I just couldn't figure it out.
I
was like, okay, Lord.
And
what that person know, and I don't say this much, but you could probably infer it.
I
long to be part of revival.
I
long to be in it. I long to steward it.
I
long to say, Jesus, come and pour out your spirit, Lord. Move, right?
And
I'm in this strange place,
and
God's like,
I
want you to be part of it. And I was like, wow, Lord.
So
I go down, and, you know, it's kind of chaos down there. They were just trying to figure it out. This was seven days into it, okay? That's
how
long it had been going when I got there. So I talked to the person, and she's like, okay, this is how it works. You know, the team will go up, and then you can just wait on the sidelines, and then we'll call you up when it's time. And, you
know,
we're going to pray together and all that kind of stuff. And it's very free-flowing. We don't know what's going to happen.
Okay.
And I'm like, okay. So I'm just at the side, and I'm just worshiping Jesus just at the side. You can pull up that first picture.
You
know, and people are just going after Jesus. I mean, it was beautiful. There's beautiful moments, beautiful moments. And I was encountering, and so about two and a half hours go by.
Still
down there.
And
then they
come
down
from
the stage, and
they're
basically like, well,
you
know, it didn't go exactly as we'd planned. You know, some of the testimonies went long. Whoever was speaking, he went longer. All this kind of stuff.
And
so we're just kind of making some arrangements,
and
we're wondering
if
you would lead worship
at
the 2 to 4 slot, 2 a.m. to 4 a.m.
I'm
just like, oh, I'm really tired right now.
Yeah. And she's
like,
and
the other thing is,
you
know, our staff has been going 24-7 for seven days.
And
so we're actually going to clear the auditorium,
and
so it'll just be you. But we really want to steward what God is doing here, so we want the prayer and the worship to still happen. So there'll be a few people, you know, but at times it'll be just you.
You
know, I don't know if you can be excited and disappointed at the same time, but they were both there.
And
I had this moment.
I
just heard
God
start speaking to me right in this moment as I was processing all of this.
And
then the darkness came,
and
then the Lord said, let there be light,
and
there was light.
It's
not the end of the story, but
I
heard
this conversation, and
I heard these three words.
I'll
be there.
Oh,
man.
And
it's like this question just resonating. Would you do it
if
it was just me?
Would
you do it if there was just an audience of one?
And
I'm like
wrestling,
wrestling, wrestling, but I was like, I would, Lord. Yes.
I
will do it.
And
so I said, yeah, I'm going to do it.
So
at 2 a
.m., I
walked in that place. A team prayed over me.
It's
kind of that, they call it the consecration.
And
then there
is
where I worship
from
two to four,
me
and the audience of one. Jesus is there. I think he's on the fourth row.
You
can see him if
you
look really hard.
Would
you do it just for one?
Would
you worship him just for one?
Would
you pray
just
if he was listening?
Would
you lead if it was just him?
Would
you do the things of the kingdom if it was just for the audience of one, if no one else saw it?
I
thought I was, I learned to be humble, you know?
And
then God takes me, ooh, another level. Wow.
And
you know what? I'm like so glad I said yes.
I
would be kicking myself if I said no, even if no one knew I was up there.
I'm
so glad.
Yes,
God does.
So
if we want to see God, we have to have humility.
We
have to have humility. The second thing I felt like God told me
is
we see with honor.
You
could say love,
but
I think honor feels a little more active. Romans 12, 10. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing
honor.
I love that. It's the only thing you're allowed to be competitive about for real, you know? Especially in a spiritual sense.
Like
athletic competition, I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about in the spiritual sense.
Outdo
one another
in
showing honor.
Honor
means giving preference to others, treating them like royalty, deferring to one another, thinking of others better than yourselves. Those are all scriptures. Some of you recognize those.
But
see, I think the thing that messes us with us in ministry,
in
spirituality,
it
messes with the purity of our hearts,
is
comparison, competition,
jealousy.
It's looking to the left, to the right. Why do they get to do all that? Why are they, you know, and you're looking, why don't I get to do, and your heart's veered off in the wrong place.
You
see, I don't, I don't actually believe, and I've heard this phrase, and just, you know, don't stone me yet. Hold on.
I
don't believe this next revival is actually going to be nameless or faceless.
A
lot of people are saying that. They even said that about Asbury. They're actually going to be people leading, facilitating,
preaching
the word, praying for healing,
but
you're not going to be able to point to just one person.
See,
Asbury, Asbury University, they had leaders. They had leadership. You just couldn't tell who they were.
You
had no idea. He was like, who's leading this thing? And everyone's like, Jesus.
But
it was true. It's weird. It was like, it was all about Jesus.
It
was all about Jesus. It was amazing.
I
went into a hallway. Oh, look at that. That's nice and bright.
You
guys are smart. Look at them. They're tricking the lights.
They're
like, we got a bright slide, and those LED screens are amazing.
That
was really smart.
Wow. I
don't remember what I was saying. Okay, I do.
Went
out to the hallway,
and
this guy's on all fours, heaving. People are praying for him. That's called a deliverance, folks.
It
just wasn't front and center. Signs and wonders were everywhere. People were being healed. The person behind me,
I
was like, can I bless what God's doing? And all of a sudden, this joy just released at her. She's like, ah! Some people were like, yeah, and other people were like, whoa, you know.
So
all that was happening, but that wasn't the focus. Jesus is the focus.
And
I think that's what God's doing.
See,
there's going to be leaders
in
this revival, in this outpouring. Whatever God's doing right now, he's stirring, he's preparing.
But
Jesus won't be able to tell who they are. I stumbled upon this behind the scenes of some of what happened to me.
You
know, because they actually just, they're called worship stewards. No one knows who the team is. There's these five people. And they scan
the
auditorium,
and
they go, that one.
They
go, that one's going to lead worship. They're going to be part of the team. That's how they did it. Profound.
But
this one person
was
describing the behind the scenes because he was part of the team. He says, you know, our first morning, we were invited to join the team. We arrived there early morning, meeting, and experienced what seemed to be a military operation.
Everyone
is physically exhausted, but spiritually on absolute fire.
They
asked Jesus for Jesus's wisdom in every decision. No decision for worship is human strategy or planning. They pray, ask Jesus, and then discern together. They speak in turn by raising hands and submitting to one another as they make decisions. It is like nothing I have ever seen before. All five of them were united
when
a decision was made.
See,
I think that's a picture
of
what this is going to look like.
It's
a picture. They're leaders. They're always going to be leaders.
But
you're not always going to be able to point to them.
You're
not going to be able to figure out who they are.
So
the encouragement here,
how
do we steward revival? How do we steward the deposit? How do we go back home?
We
learn to honor. We need to outdo each other in showing honor. We learn to bless what the Lord is doing through people. We learn to call out the gold. And even if they're gifted in the same way you are, right, you look at them and you go, I bless that in Jesus's name. I'm excited for what you're going to do. And you watch what happens. Just do it even if you don't feel it. It's not all about feelings. Sometimes I do the right thing and then the feelings come later.
Okay.
Lead your heart.
He
gave us a will. Our will has to be engaged. Now, thank God for the Holy Spirit. Okay.
He
enabled me to say yes to the 2 to 4 a.m. slot.
Thank
God for the Holy Spirit
to
go, oh, I'm a little jealous of that person.
And
then he starts giving me words about that person.
Oh,
I'm going to go prophesy. And when you prophesy over someone, you start to see
the
way God sees them.
And
you look at them different.
And
then all of a sudden this competition comparison goes.
So
honor.
And
the third one,
how
we see, you know, these are just,
there's
so many others that could be.
But
this one, I felt like he just said,
we
see
as
we are holy. Now, we've talked a little bit about holiness
as
we've been here. Blessed are the pure in heart.
You
know, holiness does mean purity. I love what
Jordan
was talking about, consecration.
You
know, with sacrifice,
we'll
see more power.
There
is a consecration happening right now
in
the world. All over these universities. It's happening in churches. Have you seen what's happening in Texas A&M?
Yeah.
Like hundreds of people giving their lives to Jesus. There's a consecration. And
Jesus
is drawing people to himself. It is amazing. Bless it.
Say
more, Lord.
Yeah. See,
in this move, we are called to holiness. And as Bob said it right now, like,
you
know, whatever is
hay
and stubble, gosh, I want to say stay in Hubble.
But
it's hay and stubble. But whatever is hay and stubble will be burned up.
But
I want to give you,
as
I'm landing this plane,
you
know, I'm going to do something that's,
I
just got to blow my nose. I know. I feel like Clay Harrington right now.
Wow. The
Lord has a sense of humor. Oh, they don't want to see that.
Oh,
no.
Oh,
my gosh.
I
want to look at holiness in a different angle. Because
it
does mean purity. It does mean these things, this consecration. It does mean that. And God is doing that right now.
But
if you look a little deeper at the meaning of holy,
it
actually means set apart
for
a specific purpose.
God
says, be holy as I am holy.
Peter
says,
we're
a holy nation,
a
royal priesthood.
There's
so many verses about this.
But
did you know that Jesus has set you apart
for
a specific purpose?
You
see, you're not only made in his image and likeness.
When
Jesus came, now you're the hands and feet
and
the mouthpieces.
Like
you've been set apart.
We're
no longer citizens of heaven. Sorry. We're no longer citizens of earth.
We
are citizens of heaven.
The
Bible calls us a peculiar people.
I
think we need to embrace that.
We
need to be peculiar.
There's
something a little different about you. Yeah, there is actually.
Isn't
it exciting?
And
then you can tell them more.
I
think one of the ways to steward holiness
so
that we see God is to continually say,
set
me apart, Lord.
Set
me apart for your specific purposes.
In
everything I do and everywhere I go, set me apart.
He
has set us apart,
but
we have a choice
in
everywhere we go,
in
everything we do.
You
know, I've been in lots of
ministry
trips.
And
I would come back from those ministry trips and something definitely changed. Like,
and
for a while,
I
was real excited. Like, I remember one plane trip. I came back from Brazil. I had three different legs of the flight. Every single person next to me had some kind of physical issue. I prayed for them. They were instantly healed.
I
was like, Jesus, this is amazing. I was just like, I saw all these miracles. And about three weeks after, I was like into it. And then it kind of slowly, little decision after little decision,
going
about my life.
And
then it just would happen every once in a while, but not like a regular lifestyle.
And
some reason,
this
last year when I went to South Africa
with
Brian Blount. You guys know who Brian Blount is?
It
was a
holy
moment for me.
A
set apart moment for me.
Where
I actually
made
a choice.
Lord,
I'm going to be set apart for you.
I'm
not going to do one foot in,
one
foot out. Now, no one would ever think that about me, I know.
But
you know,
there's
a radical, there's a radical way to follow Jesus. There's a radical way to put both feet in and say, have your way, Lord.
Set
me apart. I want to live. So when people look at me, they go, you're not from around here, are you?
I
don't always act that way, but that's what I want.
And
since then, I started experimenting.
I
saw amazing things in South Africa. But then the bus driver driving me back to Champaign, he got healed of like tooth pain and leg pain and all this. And I just kept asking at coffee shops. And all of a sudden, I'm going through Starbucks. I'm like, Lord, can you do this in 30 seconds?
And
I'm like, do you have any pain in your body? She's like, yeah. And I'm like, give me your hand. And I smile at her.
And
then she's like, what did you just do? And I'm like, where's your pain? She goes, I don't know. It's gone. I'm like, well, what just happened? She goes, I don't know. And I'm like, well, that was Jesus. He loves you so much.
And
they're like, beep, beep, beep. I'm like, okay, bye. You know, it's like,
can
you do it in 30 seconds? Yes, he can. Walmart checkouts.
And
I'm just saying yes a lot more than I'm saying no. I still say no sometimes. I'm sorry, Jesus.
But I'm
saying yes way more. It's becoming a lifestyle. I was on the plane home from South Africa.
You
know, you have these choices all the time.
You
know, and you're on a trip. I'm like, I am tired. I just want to put my headphones on, put the mask on.
Yeah,
you should see happy in trips, man. He has a system. These big headphones, this, like, mask. And he's like, ow. Anyway,
happy
layman, folks.
I'm
on the plane, and this woman next to me,
you know,
we have a long eight-hour flight.
And
she's talking to the flight attendant about her medication that has to be refrigerated. And then she needs it halfway through so she can take her shot. And
I'm
just having this, like, oh, boy, maybe I should ask.
You
just wrestle all the time, right?
I
don't know if you ever do that. I'm doing it way less now.
Now
I'm just kind of like,
hey,
what is that for? You know,
it
just kind of flies out of your mouth. You're like, oh, you know.
I
actually like that better.
I'd
rather be that than always wrestling, you know, that obedience thing.
So
I
asked,
hey, what's going on? Oh, she goes, I have diabetes, and I have to take a shot. And then we just had this whole conversation.
And
you could tell the spirit was there.
And
then the lights went dark.
Oh, look
at that. You guys are amazing.
And
kind of at the flight was getting an end. I'm like, can I just pray for you?
And
so I prayed
and prayed
over her business. She had an awesome business. She was an entrepreneur, all this kind of stuff. And then I just prayed.
I
said, Lord, I pray that her sugar levels would level out and that she would not have to take her medicine anymore. Amen.
So
I connected over Instagram afterwards. And I'm like, oh, it was great to meet you because I found her business. And she's like, this was such, I felt like God sent you, all this kind of stuff. And like we had this good interaction.
So
now it's four months later, and I just reached out. I just randomly am like, hey,
how
are you doing? How are you feeling?
You
know, she kind of updated me on her kids and stuff like that.
And
then she goes, you know what?
My
sugar levels have completely leveled out,
and
I'm going off my medicine.
And
I was like, Jesus!
I
mean,
I
mean,
really,
diabetes? You just healed that?
In
that little conversation, I prayed my best prayer. You rarely get to see that stuff.
What
did it cost me? A little bit of initial embarrassment?
Like,
you see,
let
him set you apart.
Let
him set you apart. We are a holy people, a holy nation, a royal priesthood.
If
we want to see the move of God, right? If we want to see the move of God,
humble
yourself, honor each other,
and
let him set you apart. Be holy because he is holy. He has made you holy. He has set apart, and he has set you apart to be his hands and feet, to show the world that he's real, he's alive, and he wants to do something to the problems in their life. Every single one. Do you know he is the solution to every single problem? Every single problem.
Let
him set you apart.
